Controls Engineer

SUMMARYThis position understands that our number one purpose is the continued processing of our owner's milk.
This position is responsible for supporting initiation and implementation of technical improvements, preventing and resolving technical problems, and improving the capabilities of our control systems.
The Operations Controls Engineer will provide all aspects of technical leadership to maintain and improve our manufacturing processes, manufacturing equipment efficiencies, and product qualityESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Maintaining ongoing operation of our facilities is a primary and essential duty.
Take direction from the Controls Engineer Manager to sustain and improve the site's control systems.
Manage and communicate a prioritized project list.
Advise management of improvement opportunities and operational risks for final analysis.
Analyze and review panel layouts, electrical wiring schematics, PLC/IO wiring diagrams and other related documentation for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with automation equipment.
Develop electrical bill of materials and ensure purchase of these materials through company vendors to stock key components and spare parts.
Identify and solve controls and electrical system related problems, design basic improvement opportunities and deficiencies.
Configure and program drives, PLC's and other control system and electronic/electrical components.
Evaluate existing obsolete hardware for EOL end of life and compare to most recent technology; offer enhancement recommendations with focus being on shrinking manufacturing costs.
Install, setup, and modify PLC and operator interface (HMI) systems software such as (Factory Talk, Wonderware, RSLinx, RSLogix, Cimplicity, and Ifix 32) for upgrades, additions, and to resolve issues.
Assist engineers in diagnosing and resolving controls systems related field issues.
Train Engineer personnel for hand-off of day to day responsibilities.
Provide Engineers with required controls systems related training on existing and potential future software.
Maintain general shop safety and cleanliness.
Responsible for maintaining application software updates and patches for associated systems to keep them up to date in order to support facility needs.
Maintain backups of associated systems such as SERVERS, HMI, PLC, and SCADA systems.
Maintain vendor technical support programs for Allen Bradley Tech-Connect, GE Global Care, In-Source Wonderware, and future software acquisitions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThe position may be requested to oversee technical parts of projects and train and develop others.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORKThis is a full time position requiring, at times, weekend and holiday work over multiple shifts to ensure the full time processing of our owners milk.
The need to be available and answer to facility needs is a key primary responsibility due to the technical nature of this position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred, but not required.

year of electrical hardware engineering and sizing calculations experience required.
3
years of proven ControlLogix, networks and HMI programming experience with Allen Bradley required.
3
year of manufacturing, food process industry and packaging controls experience preferred.
1
year of Servo and Robotic equipment troubleshooting experience is preferred, but not required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Familiar with NEC, CSA and other codes preferred.
Proficiency with AutoCAD software is a plus but not required.
Knowledge of manufacturing equipment electrical systems including servo/stepper motion control, PID loops, safety is preferable but not required.
Knowledge of PLC 5 and SLC500 is a plus but not required.
Possess excellent electrical/software troubleshooting skills.
Possess an interest in electro- mechanical equipment.
Ability to multitask and adapt to customer driven changes.
Ability to work independently and function as a team player.
Must be able to meet tight schedules and work towards developing and using best software practices.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
