Network Systems and Services Engineer

DescriptionLeidos is seeking an experienced Network Systems and Services Engineer to provide sustainment support to a mission critical IP email and chat transport system.
The location is Ft.
Meade, MD.
A successful candidate will develop an understanding of the services offered to external organizations and provide lifecycle systems engineering support to development and operations on the program.
As a member of this team, you will interact with technical and non-technical teammates including customers and vendors.
You will be viewed as a senior network and IT systems engineer as related to the service infrastructure and Network Management System (NMS) - including multiple environments (DEV/TEST and Production).
Primary
Responsibilities:
o Support maintaining a large, complex and highly resilient Cisco based enterprise IP data transport and communications infrastructure.
o Must be organized, document oriented, possess skills in diagramming, and understand WAN principals.
o Perform system maintenance, support capacity planning activities and complete configuration change actions and documentation efforts.
o Troubleshoot and configure Cisco routing and switching devices.
o Troubleshoot and configure network cryptographic encryption devices.
o Support distributed firewall infrastructure.
o Develop technical documents, work instructions and reporting.
o Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems utilizing strong knowledge of IP LAN/WAN principles and commercial leased transport.
o Troubleshoot remote site connectivity, and encryption problems.
o Validate change requests and ensure accuracy.
o Tier escalation support and vendor engagement supporting Incident Management activities.
o Active participation in Root Cause Analysis for Problem Management activities.
o Perform highly technical maintenance involving servers, firewalls, VPNs, IPS, and load balancers.
o Support and sustain hosted applications via Microsoft Hyper-V.
Basic Qualifications:
o Requires BS degree and 8-12 years of prior relevant experience.
Specific experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
o Active DoD clearance at the Top-Secret level with SCI eligibilityo Security
Certification or other DOD 8570 IAT Lvl II Certification within a certain timeframe after starting if not starting with one when hired.
o Experience with 3 or more of the following network protocols, services and concepts:
VPLS, VPN, MACSEC, EIGRP, HSRP, VRF, NTP and ACLs.
o Expertise and experience with current Cisco IOS software and hardware featureso Knowledge and experience with SMTP based email systems.
o Knowledge and experience with HAIPE-based encryption deviceso Knowledge of Virtualization technologieso Experience with SMTP and POP3 hosted server applications.
o Experience utilizing and sustaining services supporting the following network management protocols:
SNMP and Syslog.
Qualifications:
o CCNP Routing and Switching or CCNP Enterpriseo Experience with cryptographic keying and type 1 HAIPE Inline Network Encryptors (INE) specifically KG-250X and KG-175D.
o Experience with hosted chat application services.
o Experience with Windows Server 2019.
o Ability to travel up to 10% including OCONUS potential travel.
GSMOPay Range:
Pay Range $84,500.
00 - $130,000.
00 - $175,500.
