The position of Staff Fellow Molecular Microbiologist falls under the 0403 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade RG-11/12, you must meet the following:
Basic Qualification Requirements for the RG-0403-00 Equivalent to the GS-11 and GS-12:
Possess a degree microbiology; or biology, chemistry, or basic medical science that included at least 20 semester hours in microbiology and other subjects related to the study of microorganisms, and 20 semester hours in the physical and mathematical sciences combining course work in organic chemistry or biochemistry, physics, and college algebra, or their equivalent. OR Possess a combination of education and
Experience:
courses equivalent to a major in microbiology, biology, chemistry, or basic medical science that included courses as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Additional Qualification Requirements for the Staff Fellow Molecular Microbiologist, RG-0403-00 (equivalent to the GS-11):
Possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service, experience includes applying knowledge of the principles and practices of microbiology and molecular biology-related methods and study designs for the review and analysis of scientific data. If qualifying based on experience, this experience must be reflected in your resume. Volunteer experience can be used as qualifying experience. OR 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree Additional Qualification Requirements for the Staff Fellow Molecular Microbiologist, RG-0403-00 (equivalent to the GS-12) Possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service, experience includes applying knowledge of the principles and practices of microbiology and molecular biology-related methods and study designs for the review and analysis of scientific data; and providing analytical interpretations, conclusions, or recommendations on regulatory and laboratory operations in the microbiology and molecular biology fields.This experience must be reflected in your resume. Volunteer experience can be used as qualifying experience. Desired Education:
A doctoral degree from an accredited institution of higher learning, such as a Ph.D. or D.V.M., or other research doctoral-degree widely recognized in U.S. academe as equivalent to a Ph.D. NOTE:
